Benefits of Crying

Some people think that crying is just a loss of control and a sign of weakness. But actually, crying is a form of stress release. We cry when we are stressed or sometimes emotionally. But tears of both the situation are different. Crying helps to reduce stress and to remove toxic’s from body.

1.     Help eyesight:
One of the important functions of crying is to protect our eyes from irritants and foreign bodies, such as dust or getting rid of the acidic fumes when cutting onions. Crying helps to prevent the dehydration of eye’s membrane.

2.     Remove toxic’s:
Emotional or stress-related tears are thought to help us through difficult times in a number of ways. Stress creates stress hormones in body which affects every system of body. So, crying removes these stress hormones from body and prevents their effects.

3.     Reduce stress:
Crying helps to reduce stress which has a damaging effect on our health. Crying can help to wash chemicals linked to stress out of our body, one of the reasons we feel much better after a good cry. Removing this chemical from the body is beneficial because it triggers cortisol, the stress hormone – too much of which can lead to health problems associated with stress.

4.     Bond of relationship:
When you cry, someone comes to you to take care of you. In this way, strong bond of relationship build’s up between you and your caretaker.

5.      Mood benefit’s:
According to research, it is concluded that about 2/3 of people feel better after crying. Crying refresh your mood. So do it.

6.     Look better:
Alan Wolfelt, University of Colorado Medical School professor, works primarily with people who are mourning the passing of a loved one. Dr. Wolfelt           states, “In my clinical experience with 1000s of mourners, I observe changes in physical appearance after the expression of tears. Not only do people feel better after crying, but they also look better.”
